Malini Wins Silver Peacock Award for Akasa Kusum Malini Fonseka was awarded the prestigious Silver Peacock at the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) for her subtle, emotional turn as forgotten film star Sandhya Rani in "Akasa Kusum". At the 39th IFFI, held in the holiday resort town of Goa, Fonseka was also saluted for her four-decade career in cinema in the Special Jury Award. August Release for "Akasa Kusum" in Sri Lanka and Malini commence her World Tour "Akasa Kusum" will open in Sri Lankan cinemas at the middle of August  2009.  An exact date of release has yet to be decided, but director Prasanna Vithanage said the film will definitely see the inside of theatres before end of August. The film will run in the CEL circuit and will play in more than 25  cinemas across the country. read more...
